چکیده

We present a field study aimed at analysing the use of viewpoints in codesign meetings. A viewpoint is a representation characterised by a certain combination of constraints. Three types of viewpoints are distinguished: prescribed viewpoint, discipline-specific viewpoint and integrated viewpoint. The contribution of our work consists in characterising the viewpoints of various stakeholders involved in co-design (‘design office’ disciplines, and production and maintenance disciplines), the dynamics of viewpoints confrontation and the cooperative modes that enable these different viewpoints to be integrated. 2004 Elsevier Ltd. Using Viewpoints and CG for the Representation and Management of a Corporate Memory in Concurrent Engineering

In Concurrent Engineering, several participants (designers, managers,...) stemming from different specialities, collaborate in order to build a system. In this paper, we propose a representation with the Conceptual Graph formalism to keep a trace of the design process in Concurrent Engineering as a project memory. Such design process is a cycle of individual design and collaborative evaluation....

A Model-Driven Co-Design Framework for Fusing Control and Scheduling Viewpoints

Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) is widely applied in the industry to develop new software functions and integrate them into the existing run-time environment of a Cyber-Physical System (CPS). The design of a software component involves designers from various viewpoints such as control theory, software engineering, safety, etc. In practice, while a designer from one discipline focuses on the core...

Design and Production of Two-Piece Thyroid-Neck Phantom by the Concurrent Use of Epoxy Resin and Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) Soft Tissue Equivalent Materials

The aim of this report is to present a new two-piece thyroid-neck phantom produced by the concurrent use of epoxy resin and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA: plexiglass) soft tissue equivalent materials. Accordingly, mass attenuation coefficients of the epoxy resin and the plexiglass compounds were obtained from simulation (NIST XCOM 3.1) and measurements (practical dosimetry) and compared to th...

Co-ordinating Distributed ViewPoints: the anatomy of a consistency check

Support for Concurrent Engineering must address the “multiple perspectives problem” many actors, many representation schemes, diverse domain knowledge and differing development strategies, all in the context of distributed asynchronous development. Central to this problem is the issue of managing consistency between the various elements of an emerging design. In this paper, we argue that strivi...

Confrontation of viewpoints in a concurrent engineering process

We present an empirical study aimed at analysing the use of viewpoints in an industrial Concurrent Engineering context. Our focus is on the viewpoints expressed in the argumentative process taking place in evaluation meetings. Our results show that arguments enabling a viewpoint or proposal to be defended are often characterized by the use of constraints. One result involved the way in which th...
